France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.34%

Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.34%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.39%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 3.12% or 2.76 points to trade at 91.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) added 1.55% or 0.76 points to end at 49.84 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was up 1.39% or 2.15 points to 157.20 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which fell 3.57% or 13.25 points to trade at 358.05 at the close. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) declined 2.28% or 19.30 points to end at 828.60 and Air Liquide SA (EPA:AIRP) was down 1.66% or 3.22 points to 190.48.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which rose 8.22% to 2.60, Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which was up 6.26% to settle at 6.45 and Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which gained 5.32% to close at 2.10.

The worst performers were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) which was down 3.57% to 358.05 in late trade, LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) which lost 2.28% to settle at 828.60 and Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which was down 2.21% to 27.42 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 265 to 241 and 102 ended unchanged.

Shares in Thales (EPA:TCFP) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.39% or 2.15 to 157.20.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.87% or 19.00 to $2,165.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.58% or 0.47 to hit $80.60 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.52% or 0.45 to trade at $85.33 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.47% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 104.11.
