LAS VEGAS – In a move poised to enhance the capabilities of data scientists, NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NASDAQ:NVDA) has announced a partnership with HP Inc (NYSE:HPQ). to integrate its CUDA-X data processing libraries into HP’s AI workstation solutions. This collaboration aims to significantly accelerate data preparation and processing, a critical component in the development of generative AI.
NVIDIA’s CUDA-X libraries, built on the CUDA compute platform, are designed to expedite data processing across various data types, such as tables, text, images, and video. A key feature of this integration is the NVIDIA RAPIDS cuDF library, which enables the acceleration of pandas software—a primary tool used by nearly 10 million data scientists—by up to 110 times when utilizing an NVIDIA RTX 6000 Ada Generation GPU, compared to CPU-only systems. This enhancement is achieved without the need for any code changes.
The partnership promises a substantial increase in efficiency for data scientists, who can now process data in minutes rather than hours and handle significantly larger datasets to train generative AI models. According to NVIDIA’s founder and CEO, Jensen Huang, “Accelerating pandas with zero code changes will be a massive step forward.”
HP AI workstations, including the HP Z8 Fury, touted as one of the world’s most powerful workstations for AI creation, will now be equipped with up to four RTX 6000 GPUs, each providing 48GB of memory to manage extensive data science and AI workloads. The collaboration between HP and NVIDIA ensures that data scientists can streamline their development processes by working on local systems capable of processing large generative AI workloads.
The NVIDIA RAPIDS cuDF for accelerated pandas is expected to be available on HP AI workstation solutions with NVIDIA RTX and GeForce RTX GPUs within the month, and later this year on HP AI Studio.
This strategic alliance underscores NVIDIA’s standing as a pioneer in accelerated computing and a full-stack computing infrastructure company.
